Gionee has added yet another smartphone to its ‘Marathon‘ series portfolio in India, the Marathon M5 Plus. Originally launched in China last year, the major highlight of the Marathon M5 Plus is its mammoth 5020mAh battery and huge 6-inch display. Despite the presence of such a massive battery, the Marathon M5 Plus is just 8.4mm thick, and it also incorporates dual charging chips technology inside, just like its predecessors. In addition to the bigger battery and screen, the new handset sports Metallic Unibody, USB Type-C and Fingerprint Sensor onboard. The Gionee M5 Plus is now available for purchase at company’s online store in India for INR 26999, and it comes in Champagne Gold & Polar Gold colors.
The Gionee M5 Plus is a phablet device and boasts a 6-inch AMOLED display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 2.5D curved glass. The phone is powered by 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 Octa-core processor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 on top.
On the imaging front, the company has packed a 13MP rear shooter with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF in the M5 Plus. There is a 5MP shooter on the front for your selfie needs. The 5020mAh battery on the phone can be charged via USB Type-C 2.0 port, which also supports fast charging.
Among other specifications, the M5 Plus includes Dual SIM (Micro + Micro) support, 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for expandable memory up to 128GB. The company has also embedded a fingerprint sensor at the physical home button on the front of the phone. It measures 160.9 x 81.2 x 8.4 mm and weighs 211.5 grams. Source
