Asus announced a couple of new smartphones under Zenfone Go series in India, namely the Zenfone Go 4.5 2nd Gen (ZB452KG) and Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE (T500). Both the original smartphone models were launched back in 2015 with MediaTek Chipsets under the hood, and Asus has now refreshed the models with slightly powerful Snapdragon SoCs. In addition, the company has added LTE support in Zenfone Go 5.0 model to further please the buyers.
Zenfone Go 4.5 2nd Gen
The 2nd Gen Zenfone Go 4.5 is the company’s budget offering for this year, and there are two models available for purchase, one of which can be equipped with 8MP/5MP camera combo, while the other model features only 2MP/0.3MP configuration. Interestingly enough, the company has changed the handset’s design, now the 2nd Gen Zenfone Go 4.5 sports a power button on the top, and volume buttons on the back like the company’s Zenfone 2 series models, which makes it both look and feel more premium.
The Zenfone Go 4.5 has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display, along with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 200 Quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and the Adreno 302 GPU for graphics. It also packs 2070mAh removable battery, Android 5.1 Lollipop with Zen UI 2.0, Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It measures 136.5 x 66.7 x 11.2 mm and weighs 125 grams.
Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE
Talking about Zenfone Go 5.0, it is worth noting that, unlike the last year model, the new model comes equipped with a 4G LTE connectivity on board. The Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is fueled by 1.2GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) 64-bit processor, which has backed up by Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. Asus’s Zen UI ships on top of Android 4.4 KitKat, and 4G LTE connectivity is also available here, of course.
The imaging department includes 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front shooter. It also supports Dual SIM, 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and micro USB 2.0. The 2500mAh battery is also a part of this package, and the smartphone will be available in Charcoal Black as well Pearl White colors. It measures 146.0 x 73.0 x 5.4 ~ 9.9 mm and weighs 153 grams.
Price & Availability:
The Asus Zenfone Go 4.5 2nd Gen (5MP/0.3MP camera) variant is priced at INR 5299 in India, while the other model (8MP/2MP camera) costs INR 5699. On the other hand, the Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE is priced competitively at INR 7999 in the country.
