Samsung launches Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in India

Samsung Mobile India on Tuesday unveiled the new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones at a press event in New Delhi, India. Both the smartphones will be officially arriving in the offline and online stores beginning March 18th, however, the company has started taking the pre-orders on its official eStore. Originally introduced at MWC 16 last month, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are company’s flagship smartphones for the year 2016. Just like Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, this year’s Galaxy S7 comes with an Edge variant as well called Galaxy S7 edge. The two S7 variants showed modest enhancements over its predecessors and Samsung has fixed ‘a lot’ of things, which missed in Galaxy S6 lineup. For an instance, the missing waterproof capabilities returned to S7 and S7 edge, which was the major turn off for the people who planned to buy the S6/S6 edge. We have IP68 water and dust proof for both of the devices.
Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are virtually same other than the edge screen, and these are undoubtedly the best flagship smartphones produced by the company ever. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have been made from glass and metal and follow the similar design language that set by its predecessors. As expected, the Indian version got Exynos 8 Octa 8890 Chipset onboard, which is built on 14nm FinFET process. There is also Snapdragon 820 powered Galaxy S7 and S7 edge launched at MWC 2016, but it is the fact that only limited markets will be getting Snapdragon version. To let you know, both the chipsets are powerful enough to handle all the tasks, so no need to worry about the performance difference between these two variants.
The Galaxy S7 & S7 edge flaunts 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD Always-on display panels, respectively. As the name suggests, the screen on the S7 edge is curved to the left and right edges. The smartphones also come with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage with microSD card support via Hybrid SIM slot (Up to 200GB), and 3000mAh battery (3600mAh in S7 edge). Samsung has stated that the phones support Fast Charging on both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) chargers.

On the imaging front, Samsung has included 12MP (f/2.7 aperture) BRITECELL camera sensor on back along with LED Flash, Smart OIS and also 5MP front shooter with the f/1.7 aperture on S7 and S7 edge. Moreover, the Dual Pixel technology on Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be allowed users to grab quick and accurate focus times.
There is heart rate sensor to monitor the Blood Pressure and Oxygen levels and also Fingerprint sensor for mobile payments and additional security. Coming to the connectivity, it offers 4G LTE-A, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, ANT+, USB 2.0, and GPS/aGPS. Additionally, Samsung’s newer devices bring the support for Samsung Pay via MST and NFC.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s latest Touch Wiz UI on top. The company has also mentioned that it has removed a lot of bloatware from the interface to make it efficient and simple to use.
