HTC, after launching the Desire 828 Dual SIM and One A9 in India last month, has now finally launched its much-anticipated Desire 728 Dual SIM with a price tag of Rs 17,9900 (US $270), in India. The smartphone will be made available via major offline retailers in the country from next week in White Luxury and Purple Myst. The device aims at targeting the mid-range Android smartphone users in the Indian market. Originally launched in China back in September 2015, the device is a part of the company’s Desire lineup.
On the specs front, the Desire 728 Dual SIM, runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI on top and features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display similar to the one installed on the Desire 820G+ Dual SIM, which was launched back in July. It is powered by Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 SoC (clocked at 1.3GHz) 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU and is backed by 2GB RAM. There is a 16GB of internal storage with the option to insert a microSD card up to 2TB.
On the imaging front, It packs the same 13-megapixel Auto-focus primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, but a 5-megapixel Fixed-Focus front facing shooter with f/2.8 aperture instead of an 8-megapixel one. It is the BackSide Illumination sensor with 27mm wide angle lens and also supports 1080p video recording.
On the connectivity front, the device features Dual Nano SIMs, 4G LTE TDD, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v.4.1, DLNA, HTC Connect, GPS/ A-GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB v2.0. The handset also boasts dual front-facing speakers with HTC’s BoomSound and Dolby Atmos tech inside. It packs a 2800mAh battery that can offer up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 485 hours of standby time in 3G with 5V/1.5A fast charging support. The handset measures 157.9 x 77.8 x 7.87 mm thin and weighs 153 grams.
