The leaks and rumors of Pepsi releasing a smartphone have finally become true with the launch of the new Pepsi P1s smartphone in China today. The Pepsi P1s flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a with 2.5D arc glass for the good viewing experience. Under the hood is powered by a 1.7GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 CPU paired with Mali-450 MP4 GPU, backed by 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot support.
To excite you, the handset even packs a fingerprint sensor on the rear side above the Pepsi branding, and it comes with an easy and convenient operation along with 360-degree rotation fingerprint identification.
On the imaging front, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and 5P Largan lens as well as a 5MP front-facing camera. Connectivity includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v.4.0 and GPS. It packs a 3000mAh battery and will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop coated with Dido OS 6.1. The handset measures 152.2 × 76.2 × 7.7 mm and weighs 158 grams.
Pricing and Availability:
Pepsi has started crowdfunding in China via JD Finance (Jd.com) for P1s smartphone, if you go with a crowdfunding campaign, then you need to shell out 499 Yuan ($78). Otherwise, you need to pay prices like below mentioned;
- 699 yuan ($110) (Up to 1000 orders, if it will sell out)
- 999 yuan ($156 ) (Up to next 1000 orders, then after)
- 1299 yuan ($203) (Don’t worry, this could be the final price)
Also, the package contains a protective cover, USB cable, and a USB charger. To note, the manufacturing process will be dealt with Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co., LTD and the smartphone will be expected to release after December 3rd, 2015.
