At MWC Shanghai, Intex has come up with a new wearable, dubbed as Intex iRist smartwatch for a price tag of INR 11999 (US $188). The Intex will become the first Indian company to launch an Android-powered smartwatch running on Android ver.4.4.2 KitKat with Play Store support. Source
The smart wearable sports a 1.56-inch (240 x 240 pixels) OLED display with added protection from Sapphire glass. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 SoC, backed by a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot for expandable storage up to 32GB.
It is absorbing to note that the smartwatch has a 5MP camera on the right side of the watch with 720p video recording support and also have a two physical buttons. The smartwatch features a 3G-SIM card slot to make and receive calls and SMS, and the device is rated IP65 so, it is dust and water resistant.
Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth ver.4.0 and GPS. It packs a 600mAh battery, which is claimed to give 240 minutes of talk time. The device measures 44 x 44 x 14 mm and weighs 83 grams.
Pricing and Availability:
The smart wearable will be offered in three color variants: Black, Orange and Pink colors and priced at INR 11999. The smartwatch is expected to go on sale in early August and will remain exclusive to eBay.in initially. The package also bundled with additional Bluetooth Stereo headset.
