Asus has announced the second version of its ZenWatch called ZenWatch 2 for a European market. The company has gone with similar design language with rounded corners, but there is a new entry of the ZenWatch 2 with a smaller size. Yes..this time, ZenWatch 2 is available in two sizes including regular 1.63” with 320 x 320 pixels resolution and smaller 1.45” display with 280x 280 resolutions. The similarities continue between these two different sized models with Quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.2 GHz, 512MB LPDDR2 RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The ZenWatch 2 models powered by Android Wear OS. Both are offering a magnetic connector for charging, and it will take 36 minutes to get charged by 50%.
Asus ZenWatch 2 priced competitively, but surprisingly, the 1.45” (WI502Q) version has been priced high at €169 (~$190). Meanwhile, the larger 1.67” (WI501Q) ZenWatch 2 priced at slightly lower at €149 (~$167).
Asus has officially confirmed that both the ZenWatch 2 models will launch sometime in October, but the regional availability may differ. It will be available in three different color options – Silver, Gunmetal (grey) and Rose Gold. Asus is offering lots of customization options including the various watch faces and straps.
