Alcatel Flash 2 Announced in India

As promised earlier, Alcatel has officially announced Flash 2 budget smartphone for Indian consumers. The device has been priced at INR 9299, but it packs decent specifications with one annoying thing. Let’s take a look what it is going to offer for this price. Source

The Alcatel has taken such a weird step by calling the device as Alcatel Flash 2 instead of Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2. Why we said weird means, you will still have OneTouch logo at the back of the device but Alcatel is feeling shy to call the device with full name due to an undisclosed reason. Coming to the hardware specifications, the 5-inch display has got 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, which can provide 178-degree viewing angles. The 1.3GHz Octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor has paired with Mali-T720MP4 GPU to handle all the tasks. The 2GB LPDDR3 RAM should provide decently multi-tasking experience. Users will have 16GB internal memory with the option to insert microSD card up to 128GB.

The Flash 2 will boot into Android 5.1 Lollipop, thanks for the latest software, but the company yet to comment on Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The Dual SIM smartphone supports 4G LTE bands as we mentioned here FDD LTE: Band 1/Band 3/Band 7 and TDD LTE Band 40. So, the Flash 2 should work fine with Indian 4G LTE carriers. The other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth -v4.0, GPS with a-GPS, but there is no NFC.

The imaging department will be taken care by 13MP Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor, which has impressive f/2.0 aperture with 5P lens and Blue Glass Optical filter. The highlighting factor is that the camera does come with Phase Detection Auto Focus, which can focus on an object within 0.3 secs. The rear shooter can record 1080p videos with 80-degree view field. Alcatel has gone with 5MP OmniVision OV5648 1/4″ sensor to provide great Selfie taking experience. It has a f/2.2 aperture and Soft LED flash to avoid ruining photos with an excessive amount of light. There is a 3000mAh battery to stay longer between the charges.

Price & Availability:
Alcatel has exclusively partnered with Indian Online retailer Flipkart to sell the devices in Sub-Continent. The device is priced at INR 9299, and will be available in Volcanic Grey color starting from October 27th. Users should register to participate in the sale, which will begin later today.

Stay tuned for more updates!
