Breaking News for all Google Nexus 5 lovers: Google is all set to release a new version of the best seller, the Google Nexus 5 this year. According to recent reports, it is confirmed that Google is working on a new version of Nexus 5 flagship. The new version reportedly might be called as Nexus 5 2nd generation. We have high hopes from this new model as we expect Google to work on disappointing features such as poor battery life and memory from its outgoing model.
First released back in 2013, Nexus 5 came with an 4.96 inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 180×1920 pixel at 445ppi, a Quad-core Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB RAM and has an internal memory of 16/32 GB which isn’t expandable. On the camera front, it came with an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, optical image stabilization and LED flash along with a tiny 1.3 MP shooter in front. Under the hood the device came with a non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery which gets drained incredibly fast.
The new model of Nexus 5 is expected to arrive later this year during the festive season which is around October. According to recent reports the new model might feature improvements in areas the earlier model lacked in. Though not much is known about the new Nexus 5 model, apart from rumors which say that the new device may house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and may run on Android’s upcoming “M” OS.
We all have to wait until we get any further updates about the device’s specification. But we do expect Google to include a removable 3000mAh battery which is not charge sucking and inclusion of a microSD card slot along with 64GB internal memory.
Another rumor which has hit the smartphone world is that Google might release not one but two Nexus devices both successors of Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 as well. The successor of Nexus 6 will be made by Huawei which has been codenamed as “Huawei Angler” and the successor of Nexus 5 that will be made by LG and has been codenamed “LG Bullhead”.
Stay tuned for more updates!
