WhatsApp crosses 800 Million active users

The most popular mobile messaging app, WhatsApp has some great news offer. Founded in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum. WhatsApp has seen a steady increase in their users. Now the number of active WhatsApp users has reached a whopping 800 Million mark! which, Jan Koum, the founder himself has confirmed by posting on his official Page.

Facebook acquired WhatsApp on Oct, 2014 for a staggering 22 Billion USD. The number of active users of WhatsApp later this January was 700 Million users, but now it has crossed 800 Million active users mark adding an excess of 100 Million users in a span of just 3 months. Earlier it took WhatsApp to grow from 600 Million active users to 700 Million in just 4 months but now it has achieved the same in less than 3 months and that’s a great news. With this rapid rate of expansion, it seems that WhatsApp will cross the 1Billion active users mark by year end, which is really astonishing.

WhatsApp’s secret to this growth lies on the fact that Whatsapp is constantly working on making it better that ever before, and constantly improving its user friendliness by regularly updating its application with new features. For example, WhatsApp recently introduced voice calling feature which proved to be the game changer when compared with its rival apps available on Google Play Store. To add to its facility, WhatsApp  also introduced web version of WhatsApp. In this, you can even whatsapp using your laptop or pc and according to recent reports WhatsApp is revamping its user interface with brand new materialistic user interface, to match the recently launched Android Lolipop’s material user interface.
