Samsung rolls out Lollipop update for Galaxy A3

The long wait is over for Samsung Galaxy users. Samsung officially started rolling out Lollipop update for Galaxy A3 mid-range smartphone. The new update is currently available in Russia and will carry version number A300FXXU1BOD5.

It is an live (OTA) over-the-air as well as via KIES. Although size of the update and exact version of Android is still unknown and will expand to more countries soon. It is surprising to see update for mid-range A3 and not of A5 and A7.  This could anly mean that Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 will take more time to see update from Samsung.

The update will unleash loads of Android Lolipop goodies for Galaxy A3, like the new Material design,   lockscreen notifications to check all your notifications right at lock screen without the need to unlock your device, ART runtime will help apps to open up to 2x faster now. The only downside is  Project Volta which will squeeze out up to 30% more from your battery. Samsung also updated its own apps with Material design to offer its user pure Android Lolipop experience.
